My Top 5 Hijabi Hair Care Tips | How to Avoid Hair Loss

hey guys welcome back to my channel myname is Lena if you're new today we'regonna be talking about how I take careof my hair as a hijab' and also I wantto give you guys some practical tipsthat you can use to prevent hair losshair loss is actually a huge concernamong hijabis it's very very common andI wanted to get into like what is thecause of this hair loss and like whyit's happening thinning around the edgesof your hair and like a recedinghairline that is caused by improperlywearing your hair underneath the hijabwhenever we are literally pulling backour hair and just like pulling it into areally tight bun all of this hair righthere is being pulled so tight that itactually causes a receding hairlinewearing hijab doesn't actually causethinning of the hair naturally everysingle day we lose at least 50 to 100strands of hair and when wearing hijabwe don't see it that naturally fallingthroughout the day when we take off ourjob at the end of the day we see all ofthis hair come out at the end of the dayand especially if we have long hair itcan look like a whole lot of hair thatwe're losing but in reality it's justnormal because we're not seeing it fallthroughout the day another reason it maylook like a lot of hair is that if youdon't wash your hair every single dayand you don't brush your hair everysingle day then in the shower every twoto three days you're literally losinghundreds of strands of hair but it'sactually normal but it just looks like awhole lot at once those are some littlethings I wanted to mention in thebeginning because it may look likeyou're losing a lot of hair and youmight be blaming the head job butactually that's not the case so let'sget into my top 5 tips for caring foryour hair as a hijab' and how to preventhair lossso number one I wanted to talk to youguys about how I wear my hair underneathmy hijab so to avoid any kind of pullingI will part my hair on either the middleor either side and I'll pull it down nowthat's just gonna avoid you pulling yourhair straight back and pulling it into atight bun this will be a lot lesspulling on the front of your hair ifthat makes any senseso I part it I pull it back and down andI put it in a half ponytail and I'llinsert a picture if you guys don't knowwhat that is but it's basically asyou're pulling your hair through thehair tie you just don't pull it throughall the way and it creates a little loopand that's just the best way that Ifound to do my hair so that it doesn'tpull and doesn't like create that reallytight bun underneath my hijab anothertip is that you want to alternate yourpart so I always parted my hair on myleft hand side for like my entire lifeand I do have a little bit of a recedinghairline right where I parted it so Itry now to always part it either in themiddle or on the right hand side andjust to like switch it up and not topart your hair on one side for years andyears because that can cause a recedinghairline there as well the second thingthat I wanted to mention are the hairties that I use so I used to use justthe regular like elastic hair bands andthose just started to really like makemy hair feel like I was just pulling itso tight and it would also create a bendin my hair like when I would take myhair down at the end of the day so Istarted using these like a littleplastic coiled hair ties I think thebrand name is called invisible but I gotthese at Target they're just like theoff-brandthese are amazing I switched over tothese I don't use those other hair tiesanymore and these don't pull my hairthey don't leave a little bend in yourhair whenever you take it down at theend of the day and they're just reallyreally comfortable that you can also usejust like a scrunchie like anythingthat's kind of like thick and soft andwon't like pull your hair too much Idefinitely recommend you switching fromyour normal hairelastic bands - something like this orlike a scrunchienumber three is how I brush my hair andI always wait until my hair is like wetafter I put in conditioner and I use awide tooth comb the basic idea behindall these tips is that you don't want todo anything that's going to pull yourhair so I definitely would wait untilyour hair is like silky and soft afterconditioner and like then you can gothrough your hair with a wide toothedcomb or even a tangle teezer if yourhair just gets super super tangled butjust avoid it like pulling it too hardon your hair and creating that tensionso that we can avoid any kind ofreceding hairline number four is a tipthat you guys have heard so many timesbefore but it's not washing your hairevery single day so I wash my hair everylike two to three days and it's just waybetter for your hair so that you don'tlike strip the natural oils out of yourhair every day and cause it to be dryand frizzy it just really helps yourhair she like maintain moisture and tobe a lot more healthy number five isactually the way that I wash my hair youdefinitely want to make sure that you'reonly using your shampoo at your rootsand that's just because you're trying toget rid of any of the oils and youreally want to keep that part more drybut then using it more towards the endsit's really gonna dry out your hair andit can cause it to be more brittle so Ialways focus this shampoo around myscalp and then I leave the conditionerto like the like lower half of my hairtowards my ends one tip that I want togive you guys that you guys are going tolove my hairdresser actually gave methis tip and you know when you go to thehairdresser and they scrub your scalplike so well when they're washing yourhair and it just feels so so good and itfeels like so clean for like the nexttwo days or so so I was asking myhairdresser like how do I do that likeat home like how can I make it feel likethat clean she said that the easiest wayto do that is to literally just flipyour hair like upside down like flipyour head upside downand scrub that way and it's just like somuch easier to scrub whenever your hairis upside down I know that sounds reallyweird but like just trust me and try itit will literally change the way thatyou wash your hair your scalp is justlike your skin on your face or your bodyand it needs to be exfoliated so thiswill definitely help the health of yourscalp so as far as the products I use Iwasn't even going to share like theproducts I use because to be honestthey're like nothing special likethey're really simple I have like themost like minimal basic routine when itcomes to my hair and that's mainlybecause I just don't like the feeling oflike product in my hair like I want itto feel like super light and airy and Ijust don't like heavy products in myhair and some of these I even get fromthe drugstore I'm not like super likefancy or anything when it comes to myhair care but then I was like okay wellmaybe some people would still want toknow what I use and maybe some of theseproducts would work for you so let metell you guys a little bit about my hairso it's like a wavy texture and it getsa little bit frizzy sometimes and I dohave balayage so I have like bleach andcolor on it as wellso I try to avoid anything that hassulfates or anything that's gonna reallylike strip my hair of like my color andof like hydration and I also suffer fromdandruff and I actually suffered fromthis way before hijab so it doesn't haveanything to do with my hair job it'sjust always something that I havestruggled with and I used to useproducts from the drugstore for that andI just didn't like how harsh and strongthey were on my hair and just like theway that smells and everything so let mego ahead and show you guys what I use asfar as like my shampoo and conditionerso the shampoo that I've used for eightyears that has really really helped meis the Jason Shan dandruff relief thisreally helps with my dry scalpit's the two-in-one shampoo andconditioner and it smells a little bitlike head and shoulders but it's muchmuch more like mild so I really reallylove this product so a for conditioner Iabsolutely love this you can get it fromthe drugstore I use the OGX brand thisis called coconut curls I absolutelylove the wayit makes my hair feel after I've taken ashower it just makes it like feel sosilky and smooth and like you can justliterally get this from the drugstoreit's so so good as far as products thatI leave in my hair after the shower thisis the bumble and bumble hairdressersand visible oil you guys I am so sopicky when it comes to like oils or likeleaving conditioners or anything in myhair because I do not want to feel it inmy hair I don't want to weigh me downI don't want any of that like sticky orlike heavy feeling it is called theinvisible oil for a reason you cannotsee it you cannot feel it I literallydon't know how they created this oilbecause it just does not feel oily atall it comes out in a little pump andjust like you just need like the tiniestamount I have like medium to long hairand I use like one to two pumps and itjust works so so well and I am obsessedwith this so if you guys are looking forsomething to leave in your hair to likecombat frizz or anything after theshower I definitely recommend you guyschecking this one outI've used this on wet hair and on dryhair and it just works so so good okaythis is another drugstore product thatI've used on my hair for years it is soso cheap like I don't even know it'sprobably like three dollars or less orsomething like it's ridiculous but itworks so so good I don't even care whatthe price is if it works like I'm gonnause it so this is the Garnier Fructissleek and shine leave-in conditioner andyou cannot feel this in your hair whenyou put it in like I literally can putlike the largest amount of this in myhair and I still cannot feel it thisreally really smooths out my curls andit really combats frizz so the two ofthese this leave-in conditioner with thebumble mobile oil it's like my go-to Iknow that these are both on likeopposite ends of the spectrum like thisis from Sephora and this you canliterally get at Walmart but I just usewhat works like I don't really care likewhat the price is I've tried a lot oflike drugstore products and I've tried abunch of like high-end like productsthat can get from your hairdresser andat these two are the products that haveworked for me the best so I reallyrecommend you guys checking these out ifyou're more on a budgetI definitely recommend you guys checkingthis one out it's the most amazingleave-in conditioner that I've evertried the last tip that I wanted toleave you guys with is as hijab' so wetend to just kind of forget about ourhair sometimes and we just like leave itup in a bun for months and months and wejust never style it and we never doanything with it and we just kind offorget about it and I wanted toencourage you guys to just really try totake care of your hair style it likeonce a week or something just for you itdoesn't matter if nobody else is goingto see it but just you knowing that likeyour hair looks good and that you lookgood like it gives you so muchconfidence and it really just gets youout of that rut of like feeling likeyou're sick of your job and like youhate that you can't fix your hair likejust because you wear hijab does notmean that you can't fix your hair Ipersonally go and get my hair done likeevery three months and I go getting likebalayage and I have her like fix it forme and style it for me and I have ourtake pictures on my hair and then I canshow it around to like all my sistersand friends and all that kind of stuffso it just really gives me a lot ofconfidence so I definitely recommend youguys just really putting that time andeffort into your hair I know what we canforget about it because it's just in abun all day but I really think thattaking care of it really can help withour confidence and can just make us feeleven happier while we're wearing hijabso yeah I hope that you guys enjoyed mytips and that you got something out ofthis video leave below any like tipsthat you guys have about hair loss orhow to take care of your hair or if youhave any products that you couldrecommend to me that do not feel heavyor
